Prohibited Conduct
Violations of the Learner Code of Conduct may include, but are not limited to:
- All forms of learner academic dishonesty, including but not limited to cheating, fabrication, facilitating academic dishonesty, and plagiarism.
- Endangering, threatening, or causing physical harm to any member of the University community or to oneself; or which reasonably causes another person to be fearful of physical or emotional harm
- Engaging in contact, by any medium, that a reasonable person would understand to be unwanted including, but not limited to, intimidation, provocation, harassment, stalking, bullying, shaming, and creating a hostile environment.
- Engages in inappropriate, offensive, and/or unprofessional actions or communication
- Use of language that a reasonable person would interpret as abusive, insulting, or degrading, as well as the use of language that a reasonable person would interpret as hostile, bullying, or threatening, as set forth above.
- Impersonation of another, using another person’s identity, or furnishing materially false information, including manufacturing or possession of false identification.
- Forgery, falsification, fabrication, unauthorized alteration, or misuse of University documents, records, or identification.
- Unauthorized access to, disclosure of, or use of any University document, record, or identification, including but not limited to, electronic software, data, and records.
- Uses, possesses, or manufactures, without University authorization, firearms, explosives, weapons, unregistered fireworks, illegal chemical or biological agents or other dangerous articles or substances injurious to persons or property
- Interfering with or disrupting University or University-sponsored activities.
- Misuse, theft, misappropriation, destruction, damage, or unauthorized use, access, or reproduction of property, data, records, equipment, facilities, or services belonging to the University or belonging to another person or entity.
- Engages in solicitation in or on University property (including classrooms, other institution online locations, and email) unless such solicitation is approved by appropriate University officials.
- Engaging in discriminatory activities as prohibited by law or University policy.
- Intentionally interfering with or disrupting any University process, function, or event.
- Failure to comply with the order of an University official acting in the lawful performance of their duties and authority.
- Uses, possesses, distributes, sells, or is under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, hallucinogens, dangerous drugs, or controlled substances, except as permitted by law.
- Engaging in any sexual offense, including but not limited to, sexual assault, public sexual indecency, indecent exposure, and/or violations of AIUS’s Sexual Harassment policy.
- Producing, sharing, transmitting, or replicating harassing, obscene, or offensive materials including, but not limited to pornographic, violent, graphic, racist, or demeaning content, and/or any material that in general is understood to be socially and/or culturally offensive.
- Engages in actions or communication deemed inappropriate and/or unethical while attending institution-sponsored events or clinical placements (i.e., internships or practicums).
- Conduct which is prohibited under federal, state, or local law, or court order.
