Minimum time for completion of the Doctor of Psychology updated to three years (from two years).

Effective Date: For learners starting or re-entering the program on or after November 1, 2024.

For PsyDPsyD-C, and PsyD-G programs (refer to Degree Requirements sections of each)


Time limitations added to Master of Arts in Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy: minimum of three years; maximum of seven years. 

Effective Date: For learners starting or re-entering the program on or after November 1, 2024.

MA Psychology Degree Requirements


Update to Resubmission of Assignments policy: for courses beginning on or after November 1, the practice of resubmitting previously graded assignments for a new grade is no longer permitted.

CalSouthern has made a determination that this curriculum no longer meets the state educational requirements for licensure or certification as a psychologist in the following state: VA

MA Psychology, MFT Emphasis

Two PsyD program offerings - Doctor of Psychology: Clinical Specialization (PsyD-C) is designed to meet the educational requirements for licensure as a psychologist in select jurisdictions and does not accept applications from prospective learners who reside outside of these jurisdictions unless the learner satisfies program attestation requirements; Doctor of Psychology: General (PsyD-G) is available for all prospective learners regardless of jurisdiction residence.

Effective Date: July 1, 2024

CalSouthern enacted enrollment restrictions for prospective students who reside in jurisdictions outside the United States, applicable to programs that lead to licensure.
