PSY 8640 Advanced Applied Statistics and Research Design
This course provides instruction on a variety of methodologies that may be employed at the graduate level (with a focus on quantitative methodology). The course stresses the alignment of research questions and hypotheses, the application of appropriate statistical tests and the statistical assumption testing that must be met to use these tests. Descriptive, parametric (t-test, ANOVA, simple and multiple regression, and Chi Square) and equivalent non-parametric tests are presented, as is a section on ad hoc power analysis required to determine how many participants must be tested to obtain proper statistical power.
