PSY 8511 Advanced Human Sexuality and Sex Therapy

This advanced course focuses on human sexual behavior as an interaction of physiological, psychological, and sociocultural processes. Within this biopsychosocial perspective, the impact of politics on sexuality is considered. Learners explore the development of sexual identity, sexual behavior, and sexual disorders that cross cultural boundaries and sexual orientation lines. In addition, this course provides an overview of sex therapy, exploring clinical approaches to addressing sexual concerns, intimacy issues, and relationship dynamics within an evidence-based framework.
