MFT 6505 Ethical Issues in Marriage, Family, II
This course familiarizes the learner with the area of law and ethics, critical to the Marriage and Family Therapist and the Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Fundamental laws and ethical principles are examined, as well as general theoretical issues. The learner will have the opportunity to experience the process of ethical decision making and critical thinking. The learner will explore the complex interplay between legal and ethical codes, cultural issues, suicide risk assessment, elder and child abuse, therapist's values, and common sense necessary for building an ethical practice.
