PSY 7901 Practicum I

This first practicum course provides the opportunity to gain experience with diverse populations in a supervised clinical setting approved by California Southern University. Learners apply counseling theories and techniques as well as practice interpersonal skills in the assessment and treatment of individuals, couples, families, and/or groups. Learners are required to complete a minimum of 200 hours of direct counseling with a minimum of 8 units of supervision (1 unit of supervision = 1 hour of individual supervision or 2 hours of group supervision). The completion of all activities and submission of all documents are required to successfully complete this course. The grade for the course is either Satisfactory (S) or Unsatisfactory (U).

This course is excluded from acceleration and may not be completed in less than 16 weeks.
